Library Disability Support Services
Access Services | Assistive Technology
The University Library is committed to providing equal access to services and collections for all Library patrons. Library staff will assist patrons in obtaining access to the services and collections if they have difficulty helping themselves.
- Paging Library Materials: Users who have identified desired Library materials but are unable to retrieve them from the stacks should request assistance at the Circulation Desk or the Reference desk.
- Research and Reference Databases: Users who require assistance with research or reference databases should ask at the Reference Desk for assistance.
- Photocopying: Circulation staff can provide assistance with photocopying. Patrons are responsible for all copier charges.
- Elevators: The Library building elevators are located on the east end of the building, adjacent to the main entrance.
- Public Telephones: A TDD device is located on the public telephone in the hall near the main entrance.
- Automatic Doors: The main entrances to the library and to the Reference Room are accessible through automatic doors.
- Adjustable Tables: The library has an adjustable table in the Reference Room, near the Video Collection, and in both library classrooms.
- Office Tools and Stationary Supplies: Stapler, hole punch, scissors, and tape are available on a low table in the photocopy area in front of room 252.
The Library Assistive Technology Services are devoted exclusively to students with assistive technology needs. They are located in L264 of the Main Library, and also in the Library Access Center at the Stockton Campus. Access is by appointment or drop-in, and sign-up sheets are available at the Circulation Desk. The computer workstations include Internet access and the Microsoft Office suite, in addition to the following special applications:

Kurzweil 1000 Scanner

ClearView Optelec Reader, a CCTV that enlarges printed text onto a television screen.

Jaws Screen Reader, a screen reader program.
