2007 Summer Reading Program

Coinciding with the California State University, Stanislaus Summer Reading Program, the University Library developed a display that highlights and brings to life the 2007 selection, A Land Without Time. Using artifacts of Afghan origin, print and pictorial works exploring daily life in Afghanistan, a real watermelon, and other objects depicting events discussed in Dr. John Sumser's work, the display highlighted the book's themes of Peace Corps service and life in Afghanistan as it once was.

The University Library is a partner in fulfilling the California State University, Stanislaus mission to provide a welcoming learning environment that encourages and supports its students, to facilitate excellence in teaching and scholarship, and to enrich the intellectual, cultural and artistic environment of a diverse campus and community.
