Current subscriptions to local and some major U.S. newspapers are available in the Library. Back issues are retained on microfilm. The most current issues of many newspapers will be found on display in the Reading Room. Searches for full-text newspaper articles printed since the 1980s can be conducted in Lexis-Nexis.
Local newspapers include: Merced Sun-Star, Modesto Bee, The Record (Stockton), Sacramento Bee, and the Turlock Journal.
U.S. newspapers include: New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and the Wall Street Journal.
The Library also subscribes to some international and foreign language newspapers, including Chinese World and La Opinión.
